The International Institute
for Population Sciences (IIPS) is designated
as the nodal agency by Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of
India, for conducting the District Level
Household and facility Survey (DLHS). The
present household survey at the district
level is of third round and proceeded by
DLHS –I in 1998-99 and DLHS–II in 2002-04.
The DLHS-3 in 2007-08, survey covered a
sample size of about seven lakh households
covering the 611 districts in India.
DLHS-3 provides information
on family planning, maternal and child
health, reproductive health of ever married
women and adolescent girls, utilization of
maternal and child healthcare services at
the district level for India.
