Couples
awarded in Rajnandgaon Distirct,
Chattisgarh
Emerging out
of a special workshop to sensitize
district level functionaries of Nehru Yuva
Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) from
selected
districts of different states organized at
Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth
Development, Sri Perambadur in TamilNadu
in August 2008; the first award ceremony
for 24 BPL couples from district of
Rajnandgaon of Chhatisgarh was
organized on
21st of Feb 2009 at
Agricultural Products Marketing Center
which was attended by around 8000 people
who
converged from
near by rural areas. The Prerna award
function was the main event of the golden
jubilee celebrations of Rural
Self
Employment Scheme promoted by the District
of Rajnandgaon under the supervision of
the Collector of the District
Shri Sanjay
Garg.
Apart from the organizers
from NYKS, the top functionaries of Zilla
Parishad, Hon’ble member of Parliament,
Rajnandgaon
participated in the event where each of 24
couples were presented commendations
certificates from responsible parenthood
along with awards for full
filling responsible parenthood criteria in
form of Kisan Vikas Patras of value
ranging between 10,000
and 19,000 per couple.
